Purpose and calendar content

Kids Planner temporarily reads visible event titles, times, day structures and calendar identifiers on calendar.google.com to insert picture-card titles and enhance the calendar view. This processing stays local. Calendar content is not sent to the developer, weather services or payment providers.

Changes to Google events

Inserting a picture card proposes its emoji and name as the event title. Dropping opens Google’s event dialog. With direct saving explicitly enabled and a destination selected, the extension may click Google’s Save button for its new draft. Saved events and emoji titles then reside in your Google calendar under Google’s own terms. There is no separate event database or additional Google API sign-in.

Local storage

chrome.storage.local contains preferences such as language, mode, timezone, selected weather location and destination calendar identifiers per Google account index. Custom picture cards contain names, emoji and optionally a locally resized image. They stay in this Chrome browser profile; the extension has no account-based sync. Card images are processed locally and not uploaded to Google as images.

Optional weather access

Only after you grant weather permissions and search for a place does the extension contact Open-Meteo and its geocoding service. They receive the search text or coordinates rounded to two decimal places and the connection’s IP address. Requests use HTTPS and do not include Google credentials. Event content is never included. There is no automatic geolocation. Solar times and daylight are calculated locally from the saved location and timezone.

Cache and removal

Weather is cached locally and normally refreshed after 60 minutes. During outages, clearly marked stale data may be displayed; data older than seven days is not used. Expiry does not necessarily delete a cache immediately. Preferences and custom cards remain until changed, deleted or uninstalled. Uninstalling removes this profile’s extension data but does not delete events already saved with Google.

Support links and other services

A support link opens the fixed public product page only after your click, without event content, search text, calendar identifiers or referrer. PayPal and Buy Me a Coffee are visited only after a further click on that page. The website and those providers process visits under their own privacy policies. The extension contains no payment SDK, advertising, analytics or telemetry.

Limited Use and this website

Calendar information is used only for the picture-card and calendar features described here, in compliance with the Limited Use requirements of the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy. Calendar data is not sold or used for advertising. This website is hosted by GitHub Pages and adds no tracking scripts or analytics cookies. GitHub handles hosting traffic under its privacy statement.

Developer and development status

Developer: Sven Knoerzer (7evenk). This policy describes the current private development build. Public support contact details and Store disclosures will be checked before Store publication. Changes to data handling will be reflected here with a new date.
